This 1.5 mL tube rack is designed for the conical bottom 1.5 mL tubes, also know as "Eppendorf tubes". It features an SBS (Society for Biomolecular Sciences) footprint, a universal standard for pipetting robots, and other automated liquid handling equipment; this footprint measures 127.76 x 85.48 mm.

Each tube slot has mini-springs that gently press against the tube walls, providing a firm yet gentle grip. This prevents tubes from wiggling or shaking due to vibrations during pipetting or other procedures, ensuring accurate results. Those springs also allow you to turn the rack upside down, for example, to pour all the liquid from all the tubes simultaneously. 

In addition, there is a square slot next to each tube, to fit a cap when the tube is open. This prevents the caps to accidentally get in a way of a pipettor.
