Cold block designed for flat-bottom multiwell plates with an SBS/SLAS footprint. The solid aluminum surface makes direct contact with the underside of the plate, providing rapid and uniform thermal transfer across all wells.

Compatible with any standard SBS-footprint flat-bottom plate, including:

  • 96-well flat-bottom plates (F-bottom) — ELISA, cell culture, colorimetric assays
  • 384-well flat-bottom plates — high-throughput screening, fluorescence, luminescence
  • 1536-well plates
  • Flat-bottom storage and assay plates from all major manufacturers (Corning, Greiner, Falcon, Nunc, Sarstedt, etc.)

Pre-chill the cold block in a freezer or on ice and use it instead of an ice bucket for experiments that require low temperatures. The flat aluminum contact surface ensures consistent well-to-well temperature uniformity — critical for temperature-sensitive assays such as ELISA, cell-based assays, and enzymatic reactions.

Corner clips secure the plate in position, preventing it from sliding during pipetting or transport. The low-profile design (19 mm height) keeps the plate at a comfortable working height and fits easily into most pipetting robots.

The cold block has an SBS footprint and will fit any pipetting robot that follows the "Society for Biomolecular Screening" standard. This standard is also known as SLAS/ANSI form factor.
