Cold block for 5 mL centrifuge and snap-cap tubes with an SBS/SLAS footprint for automation compatibility. Holds 15 tubes in a 5×3 configuration.

Pre-chill the cold block in a freezer or on ice and use it instead of an ice bucket for experiments that require low temperatures. The solid aluminum mass provides excellent thermal inertia — once chilled, the block keeps tubes cold significantly longer than plastic racks or ice buckets, with uniform temperature across all 15 positions.

The wells feature a countersunk entry with a conical profile that matches standard 5 mL centrifuge tubes, maximizing contact area for efficient heat transfer and making it easy to insert tubes with one hand.

The sides feature a textured grip area for easy and secure handling, even when wet or cold.

The cold block has an SBS footprint and will fit any pipetting robot that follows the "Society for Biomolecular Screening" standard. This standard is also known as SLAS/ANSI form factor.
