Cold block for 0.5-0.7 mL tubes, SBS footprint, 36 positions (9×4)
[cat. No. 1070]
Cold block for 0.5-0.7 mL microcentrifuge tubes with an SBS/SLAS footprint for automation compatibility. Holds 36 tubes in a 9×4 configuration. Fits standard 0.5 mL, 0.6 mL, and 0.65 mL snap-cap microcentrifuge tubes.
Pre-chill the cold block in a freezer or on ice and use it instead of an ice bucket for experiments that require low temperatures. The aluminum body ensures rapid and uniform heat transfer, keeping all 36 tubes at a consistent temperature.
Each row features a groove between the tube wells designed to hold the snap-cap of an open tube out of the way. This prevents caps from interfering with pipette tips — especially important when used on a liquid handling robot.
The sides of the block have a textured grip pattern for easy and secure handling, even when wet or cold.
The cold block has an SBS footprint and will fit any pipetting robot that follows the "Society for Biomolecular Screening" standard. This standard is also known as SLAS/ANSI form factor.
